Visit to Sarojini Nagar Market
Sarojini Nagar market is one of the most essential markets for women in Delhi. It houses shops and stalls for clothes, jewellery, bags, shoes, eatables and yummy street food. Almost anything you can think of. All the stuff is authentic Indian style, beautiful prints, colours and fabrics. The market is always crowded by college going girls, women of all ages, and young couples romancing 🙂
There are many juice shops here that provide fresh juices of a large variety. A must visit if you have to buy beautiful and girlie stuff !
Karol Bagh market
Today I walked through the roads of a very popular and old market, Karol Bagh. This market is very popular for getting everyday essentials, as well as special occasion clothing and accessories.
Things to look out for are: accessories like earrings, bangles etc. Beautifully coloured clothing like skirts, tops, shirts and kurtis. Some shops provide comfortable and trendy shoes, the kind that you would want to wear daily, and look pretty 🙂
Karol Bagh is easily reachable by Delhi Metro, very convenient. Take a rickshaw from there if you don’t like walking much.
I picked up earrings and accessories from the gentleman in the middle picture below, and some beautiful stoles from the boy in the last picture.
Punjab sweet corner is a must visit if you are fond of mouth watering stuff like chola bhatura, chaat, bread pakoras etc. Its absolutely yummy:D
Picked up some jaipuri skirts from the elderly uncle seen below. He was very forthcoming when I asked him for a picture 😛 .
Chandni Chawk, old Delhi
Chandni Chawk is one of the oldest markets of Delhi. It reflects the essence of olden days of this city. And it is extremely crowded, not to forget 🙂 . The best way to reach here is by Delhi Metro service.
This is the chosen market whenever one needs to make purchases for weddings or any other traditional gatherings. Wedding lehengas, sherwani, juttis, jewellery, accessories, ‘choora'(traditional bangles that brides wear on wedding day), are all easily available here, and in a large variety.
It also houses some extremely popular eateries, that have been there for as long as you can remember. One such destination is ‘paranthe waali gali’, which is known for its ‘paranthas’ (stuffed breads). Then there are ‘kachori’ shops. Foodies should take out ample time, and visit these places to satiate their appetite 🙂 .
Whenever you visit, wear some very good pair of shoes, there is lots to walk and explore here 🙂 .
